GoodBye Blinky Blinkerson and Fred Freemonster!

April 30th, 2007

The wedding is getting pretty darn close. So close that I have only 9 more days of work after today! The closeness of the wedding seems to be a bit of a curse and a happy thing though. My free time is absolutely shot and my sleep is virtually non existant. I have gotten so little sleep that I started naming things that already have names. For example, I am now calling sleep “Blinky Blinkerson” and my freetime “Fred Freemonster.” If you want to do something with me in the next month and a half you will have to make an appointment early because almost every hour is already filled.

I haven’t even gotten to see my newest little step nephew yet! (Sorry Shawna!)

There are so many little things to get done still as well. Gotta make lists and make payments and double check deliveries and in general just get ready! I will be so happy when it is here! But .. I’m not sure what I will do to occupy my free time once it’s over. Maybe I’ll actually spend some time with my friends (sorry friends) or family (sorry family) or something crazy like that!

Simon’s parents, grandparents, sister, and boyfriend of sister come out soon! A week from tomorrow actually! It’s really exciting because we will have an amazing back yard and cute little kittens and a wonderful house to show them! Label me officially excited!

This week is going to be a whirlwind of cleaning, getting ready for the wedding, dancing, and more. I’m just excited that’s why I’m writing and rambling. Ok, can’t wait to see you all! I miss you and love you!

Last Minute Preparations

April 25th, 2007

Today I had the sudden realisation that our wedding is coming up really fast. It is:

  • 3 1/2 weeks till the honeymoon
  • 3 weeks till the wedding
  • 2 1/2 weeks till my sister gets here
  • 2 weeks till my friends from England and other states get here
  • 1 1/2 weeks till my parents and grandparents get here
  • 1+ weeks of madness getting everything ready in time!

I am really looking forward to marrying my best friend; that goes without saying! However, I’m also looking forward to the whole package. It’ll be the first time many of my friends have visited me in Colorado. It’ll also be the first proper holiday/vacation Amber and I have had together. Yes, we’ve been to England twice, but for me that’s just going home for a while, and for Amber it involves meeting a whole lot of my family…

Registry Crazy!

April 23rd, 2007

A scanner

I posted three blogs today because I keep writing them and then not posting them, so here you go.. a lot to read .. sorry!

Ok, so.. this past Friday Simon and I did our first in-store registry at Target (we have done them all online so far) and OMG IT WAS SO FUN! I almost want to get married again just so I can have that little gun thing to scan various items! We scanned like.. EVERYTHING! We went a little crazy though, I think there may be some parsley seeds on there…

It was just too fun to stop though! While I enjoyed scanning actual items and hearing the satisfying “beep”, Simon enjoyed scanning things that really had no barcodes on them, such as small children and inanimate objects. Overall it was a great time. It was like being in a candy store where you could pick anything you wanted! Like, you know when you were little and you thought to yourself, when I’m all grown up and rich I’m going to buy Toys R Us so I can play with all the toys. THAT IS WHAT IT WAS LIKE!

I want to go to Bed Bath and Beyond next. I don’t know if I can handle all the excitement but we’ll see won’t we!?!?!?

In other news, we got a few more things taken care of this weekend such as tux fittings and photos and the like. I’m really excited! It’s not long now! (22 Days 16 Hours and 25 Minutes). Not that i’m counting down or anything. OH WHO AM I KIDDING!! I TOTALLY AM!! I AM SO EXCITED! THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BESTEST PARTY EVER!!!

I’m so excited that my family and friends will be able to come together in an awesome celebration of the amazing thing that Simon and I have together! I can’t freaking wait for the bridal shower or the bachelorette party or the wedding or the HONEYMOON!

Did I mention in my last blog that we got our tickets??! It is so real! It’s like.. just around the corner! We booked all our excursions and we learned ways to ‘cheat’ the system on the cruise and all the talk about it made it seem real and not like some crazy far off dream. We’ve been planning this for two years!

So put on your party shoes people and get ready for the awesomest of awesome times, ’cause our wedding isn’t going to be like any other!

Love,
Amber

< 30 Days to GO!

April 23rd, 2007

Dude!

OMG!

There are now less than 30 days to go until the wedding! WOAH! So.. all the details are working out.. there are a few outstanding things but nothing HUGE! I don’t really know what’s happening with the transportation, some of the men in the bridal party haven’t gotten their tuxes fitted yet, and I can’t get ahold of the music people but I’m sure all these things will be fixed! .. hopefully…

IN other AWESOME news, we picked up our honeymoon tickets on Saturday!!!!!! OMG OMG it’s really happening! They told us all these ways to cheat the money suckers and have a great honeymoon! I’m so excited! We are going to be on the caribbean with no distractions and just the sea air and sunny sun to keep us company!! I TOTALLY CAN’T WAIT! My favorite thing that I’m looking forward to is ziplining through the canopy on some island or another.. I can’t remember where. I really need this vacation!!

It seems like the days are flying by!! What a rush! It’s like skydiving! Woot! More later.

Almost Done Done Done Donnnnne

April 23rd, 2007

So all the invitations are all sent out. And we’ve received our first wedding pressie!! The Aero GardenOk, we bought it for ourselves with our reward points from our credit card but we’re still counting it! It is called an Aero Herb Garden and it’s amazing. We are growing 8 different types of herbs and it’s so beautiful!

AND! We have the whole cake situation all figured out. It’s going to be a surprise but I think you’ll really like it. Most of all it is going to be uniquely Simon and I!

With only a little over 2 months left, we’re getting really really really really excited! I think we’re the most excited about our cruise!! We looked at what we could do on the cruise and there were all kinds of exciting things! Among the ones we decided on were: ziplining through the rain forest on a series of cables connected among platforms; a wonderful sailboat cruise to a deserted island where we can snorkle and relax; and a ride in a submarine under the depths of the ocean.

This is going to be amazing. I can’t wait until family starts to arrive!!

Oops I didn’t post this yet… Well, here you go!
